Khvicha Kvaratskhelia is widely regarded as one of the world’s most exciting wingers and one of the greatest footballers ever produced by Georgia.
Born on 12 February 2001 in Tbilisi, Georgia, Kvaratskhelia has become renowned for his extraordinary dribbling ability, creativity and fearless attacking style. His combination of flair, technical brilliance and decisive performances has established him among football’s elite attackers.
Growing up in a footballing family, Kvaratskhelia was introduced to the game at an early age by his father, Badri Kvaratskhelia, a former professional footballer. He developed through Dinamo Tbilisi’s youth academy before continuing his progression at Rustavi, where his exceptional talent quickly became apparent.
Kvaratskhelia made his professional debut in Georgia while still a teenager before earning opportunities abroad. Short spells with Lokomotiv Moscow and Rubin Kazan allowed him to adapt to higher levels of competition, where his explosive dribbling, acceleration and ability to eliminate defenders immediately attracted attention across Europe.
Following geopolitical developments in 2022, Kvaratskhelia briefly returned to Georgia with Dinamo Batumi before securing a transfer to Napoli. The move proved transformative. In his debut Serie A season, he became one of Europe’s breakout stars, combining spectacular individual skill with outstanding consistency to help Napoli capture their first Serie A title in more than three decades.
Technically, Kvaratskhelia is one of the game’s most gifted one-on-one attackers. Operating primarily from the left wing, he frequently cuts inside onto his stronger right foot to create scoring opportunities through dribbling, precise passing or powerful finishing. His balance, close control and unpredictability make him exceptionally difficult for defenders to contain.
Beyond his technical brilliance, Kvaratskhelia possesses outstanding football intelligence. His movement between defensive lines, decision-making in transition and willingness to contribute defensively have made him one of the most complete attacking wingers in modern football.
In January 2025, Paris Saint-Germain completed his signing, bringing one of Europe’s brightest attacking stars to the French champions. His arrival strengthened an already talented squad and provided PSG with another elite creative threat capable of influencing the biggest matches in domestic and European competition.
Internationally, Kvaratskhelia has become the face of Georgian football. As the nation’s leading player, he has inspired a new generation while helping Georgia achieve historic milestones on the international stage. His leadership and performances have elevated both his own reputation and the profile of Georgian football worldwide.
